The 2026 Environment+Energy Leader Awards were announced today, Earth Day, April 22, recognizing 80 winning submissions across four award tracks for their work advancing energy management, environmental performance, and operational excellence.
Now in its 14th year, the E+E Leader Awards program is judged entirely by an independent panel of working industry professionals — senior executives and practitioners who evaluate submissions on innovation, execution, and real-world results. This year's judging panel included volunteer experts from across the energy, environment, and sustainability sectors.
The highest honor in each category, the Judges' Choice designation, went to the top-scoring entry as determined by the panel. This year's Judges' Choice recipients are:
Product Award winners span three categories — Business & Infrastructure, Consumer & Residential, and Software & Cloud — with 34 recognized entries in total. Winners range from hardware innovations in EV charging, energy storage, and building materials to AI-powered compliance platforms, emissions tracking tools, and next-generation EHS software. In-depth profiles are available for select Product Award winners, including BrainBox AI, Cority, 3E, and Atrius Energy.
Project Award winners represent implemented, measurable initiatives across three categories — Digital Transformation, Energy Innovation, and Environmental Impact — with 36 recognized entries. Recognized organizations range from global utilities and multinational energy services firms to regional operators and sustainability consultancies. Select winner profiles are available, including Trane, Oritain, AVI-SPL, and ENTOUCH.

Starting this week, E+E Leader is launching the Awards Insider Newsletter — a twice-monthly newsletter featuring an in-depth look at a different 2026 award winner each issue. From the technology behind the win to the team that drove it, Awards Insider will go beyond the announcement to tell the stories that matter. Issues will continue through the opening of the 2027 awards season.
The Environment+Energy Leader Awards have recognized organizational excellence in energy and environmental performance since 2013. Submissions are evaluated by a volunteer panel of senior industry professionals — not editors or advertisers — on the strength of outcomes, not intent. The 2027 awards cycle will open later this year.
