Wyoming Refining to Save with New Motors, LEDs

wyomingWyoming Refining, which is in Newcastle, is lowering its annual electric bill by about $10,600 via installation of energy-efficient lighting and motors, according to The Wyoming Business Report.

The company is receiving rebates of $10,250 from Black Hills Energy-Wyoming Electric. The work was done during a plant overall. The story says that 265 LED fixtures were installed. They will save 122,906 kWh and shave peak demand by 28.6 KW annually. The electric bill will be reduced by $9,200. Twenty-two energy efficient motors, with a collective 965 horsepower, also were installed. They will save at least 18,252 kWh and $1,400 annually.

Inside Energy reports that the outlook for wind energy in Wyoming is improving.
