From 1999 to 2010, companies involved in the World Wildlife Fund's Climate Savers program will have reduced emissions by 50 million tons.
The program includes companies such as Coca-Cola, Catalyst, Hewlett-Packard, Johnson & Johnson, Nike and Nokia, among others.
Climate Savers, which has 21 members, marked its 10-year anniversary with a Capitol Hill press conference with the message that environmental sustainability and profitability can go hand-in-hand.

WWF's Climate Savers program engages in an array of initiatives. It has published a catalog of the most energy efficient computers.
JohnsonDiversey joined the program last September. By 2013, the company says it will reduce by 8 percent GHG emissions from its operations based on 2003 level; an 89,000 ton reduction in emissions.
On March 25, WWF published a report that shows companies can significantly reduce their carbon footprint by wise choice of IT systems.
