Sustainalytics, a provider of environmental, social and governance research and analysis, has been selected by London-based WHEB, an independent asset management firm specializing in sustainable investments, to provide a variety of ESG research and data products and services that will be integrated into the firm’s investment decision-making processes.
Specifically, WHEB will incorporate Sustainalytics’ ESG research and data into its stock selection and portfolio management activities.
WHEB says businesses that successfully turn sustainability challenges into opportunities will access faster growing markets and gain a long-term competitive advantage. The firm focuses on four social and five environmental themes, including cleaner energy, resource efficiency, health, sustainable transport and water management, which forms the basis of its investments.
Companies aren’t doing enough to address climate change and other sustainability issues that could affect the environment — and firms’ bottom lines — according to a 2014 report by Ceres and Sustainalytics.
