A UK investors group is urging the public disclosure of carbon emissions by companies that supply goods and services to the government.
The Carbon Disclosure Project is working with eight public sector insitutions to sequester data on their suppliers' environmental performance.
Nearly 2,500 suppliers to the Office of Government Commerce, the Victoria & Albert Museum, Defra, the London Borough of Islington, the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, Essex council, Gloucestershire council and Leeds city council received requests to provide data on carbon emissions and their climate change policies.
A number of reports on the project are available here. View companies' questionaire responses here.
