Trump Company Fined for Plane’s Carbon Emissions

Trump 757A Donald Trump company has been fined by the UK’s Environment Agency for breaking the county’s carbon emissions rules.

The penalty is for a flight to the UK in a plane owned by DJT Operations, a part of the Trump Organization, owes £1,610 ($2,347) under the European Union’s carbon pollution emissions trading scheme (ETS), The Guardian reports. The ETS requires polluters to purchase a carbon permit for every metric ton of carbon pollution emitted, or pay a €100 ($109) per metric ton fine.

The Bahrain Royal family, 21st Century Fox America, and British construction vehicle manufacturers JCB have also been fined for UK flights, according to The Guardian.

Trump, a US presidential candidate, has said climate change was “created by and for the Chinese in order to make US manufacturing non-competitive.”
