Toronto Smart Building Deploys LEED Dynamic Plaque

Honeywell Energy ManageHoneywell is expanding its relationship with Menkes Developments, a Toronto-based real estate firm, to help trim energy and operational costs at the firm's 30-story Telus Tower - a smart building, featuring connected systems designed and delivered by Honeywell.

As part of the project, Honeywell will deploy its Attune Services, which include software that connects buildings to advanced analytics. Attune will help facility managers sift through complex data from building automation systems to pinpoint potential improvements.

The project also includes the addition of the US Green Building Council's LEED Dynamic Plaque, a monitoring tool that will display the facility's current performance across five categories: energy, water, waste, occupant transportation and human experience. It will be the first Plaque in Canada, and Honeywell will complete the installation with the support of USGBC and the Canada Green Building Council.

Attune and the LEED Dynamic Plaque will be implemented at Telus Tower by summer 2015. Both tools will supplement the integrated technology from Honeywell that currently powers the facility, which includes heating, cooling, lighting, security and safety systems.
