Think Energy – a retail electricity provider (REP) that is a subsidiary of GDF SUEZ Energy Resources – announced on November 3 that the company has expanded into Texas.
The retail provider, which serves residential and small commercial customers, has been providing electricity in the United States since its launch in 2011. With the addition of Texas, Think Energy is now in more than a dozen energy markets nationwide – with other customers in Connecticut, Delaware, District of Columbia, Illinois, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania.
Think Energy offers fixed-rate plans without cancellation fees. For the rollout, the company is marketing four plans, with terms of six, 12, 18, and 24 months, to the customers of AEP Texas Central, AEP Texas North, CenterPoint Energy, Houston Electric, Oncor, and Texas-New Mexico Power.
John Henderson, head of Think Energy, said the move not only marks a significant step in the company's strategic growth efforts, but also promises to broaden the pricing options for residential and small commercial consumers in the ERCOT market.
