IntelliBUILD, a program launched by The Canadian Printable Electronics Industry Association (CPEIA), has picked up support from The Continental Automated Buildings Association. The program aims to advance intelligent buildings by combining them with products and applications made using printable organic and flexible electronics, according to Electronic Products and Technology.
More specifically, the idea is to create cooperation in the printable electronics area between creators and intergrators. Intelligence-infused printable electronics (PE) are used in flexible LED and OLED lights, photovoltaic windows and elsewhere. These smart devices can be teamed with connected homes and buildings in heating, lighting, ventilation, air conditioning, security, fire and other systems. The bottom line is that these two related sectors, working in unison, can create great energy efficiencies in buildings.
The CPEIA points out in its release on the cooperation that the challenge of any new technology is to move from the conceptual and prototype stage to industry engagement and real world use. The goal of the IntelliBUILD program is to encourage this evolution.
