3Degrees, a San Francisco based green energy consultant, announced on Wednesday that it has become the first company in North America to be recognized by The Climate Registry. The company earned the registry's Climate Registered Silver designation, a certification given to organizations that have measured their carbon footprint in the registry's best-in-class program, committed to a timeline for meeting Scope 1 and Scope 2 emission reduction goals and demonstrated greenhouse gas reduction best practices.
The International Electrotechnical Commission has published two new international electric vehicle charging standards for plugs and sockets, Green Car Congress reported. The commission said the standards, IEC 62196-1 and IEC 62196-2, can be used in different electricity infrastructures and meet disparate electricity regulations throughout the world.

Hydrotex, a lubricant and fuel improver solution manufacturer, announced that its Ultra-Kleen Drip Oil meets the NSF/ANSI Standard 60 for use in potable water applications. The company said that the product also contains a USDA/FDA authorized non-toxic anti-corrosion system.
The Manufacturing Skills Standards Council announced that it has launched a new Green Production Module that it says will help train a broad group of manufacturing workers in industry-defined standards to receive a "Green Production" Certificate. The council defines "green production" as workplace activities across all sectors that "require the use of equipment, technologies and processes that will improve the environmental performance of manufacturing companies." The module was developed under a U.S. Department of Labor grant from the 2009 economic stimulus bill.
Xenemetrix, Inc. and Eastern Applied Research, Inc. announced that the two companies will co-develop an X-ray Fluorescence Spectrometer that will assist companies in new RoHS compliance testing needs after the recent recast of regulations. The companies said the spectrometer will also provide full qualitative and quantitative analysis of elements.
Dubai's new cruise ship terminal has received LEED Silver accreditation, Emirates News Agency reported. The terminal, run by the Dubai Commerce and Tourism Promotion Board, said it achieved the certification through construction of water efficient systems and minimized use of toxic material.
