Supply chains are a prime focus for businesses as they pay closer attention to their environmental impact. This recent survey quantifies supply chain sustainability trends and examines how companies are approaching the shift to electric powered industrial trucks (PIT) – a category that includes equipment like forklifts and container handlers – as part of their sustainability strategy.
The survey by Hyster Company and Peerless Research Group included input from more than 130 respondents in transportation, storage and distribution, inventory and logistics. The results clarify:
• The levels of motivation and importance supply chain operations place on sustainability efforts
• The common barriers related to electrification, including cost, facility infrastructure, local utilities and governmental regulations
• The top reasons operations are considering PIT fleet electrification
