Several California schools have contracted with Green Charge Networks to install over 1,500 kWh of energy storage capacity under Power Efficiency Agreements (PEAs).
The schools are: Mountain View-Los Altos Union High School District, Oak Park Unified School District, Butte Community College, Peralta Community College District and California State University, Fullerton.
By installing Green Charge’s lithium ion-based battery storage, these schools can expect to save up to 50 percent off their demand charges. As an added benefit, Green Charge has coupled electric vehicle charging stations with each of these systems to mitigate increased demand charges.
With no upfront cost, the Mountain View-Los Altos High School District, for example, expects to reduce its demand charges on average $43,000 per school year by installing the GreenStation solution and EV charging stations at two high schools.
