Woodland Park (CO) School District Re-2 said that it has completed the first year of an energy efficiency program with OpTerra Energy Services. The program, which started late in 2013, focused on $2 million in upgrades and modernizations. Savings will be almost $4 million, according to OpTerra’s press release. The school district is comprised of the cities of Divide, Florissant and Woodland Park.
The project including district heating and ventilation systems, interior and exterior lighting and recommissioning of building automation systems. The project is expected to save 1.2 million kWh of electricity and 1.7 million gallons of water annually, according to the press release.
Katonah-Lewisboro School District in New York said that its energy performance contract with Honeywell will save 27 percent via mechanical upgrades; 26 percent in HVAC costs; 22 percent in lighting costs; 11 percent via building envelope upgrades; 5 percent via pipe insulation; 3 percent in computer power control; 1 percent through kitchen hood installation and 5 percent through miscellaneous savings, according to the LewisboroLedger.
