The US Army Corps of Engineers Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, Alabama, (USACE) has awarded Schneider Electric an indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract. Schneider is one of 13 firms that will share in the estimated $2.5 billion multiple award task order contract.
Under the Utility Monitoring and Control System (UMCS) contract, Schneider will provide engineering and services necessary for the procurement of new and/or upgrades to direct digital control systems, HVAC systems, and other automated control systems on government facilities worldwide. Contract work will also include the monitoring and control of utilities at government facilities, municipalities and educational institutions to meet specific installation requirements.
Schneider Electric can address all aspects of building-related requirements from planning and design to implementation, commissioning and sustainment services. Areas of expertise include building controls, security, metering, fire safety and analytics technologies.
USACE maintains a UMCS Mandatory Center of Expertise at the US Army Engineering and Support Center in Huntsville, which manages programs that implement energy improvements on military installations and other federal agencies.
