Energy-management solutions providers Raritan has released a new dashboard for its Power IQ data center energy management software with added forecasting tools and visual gauges to track energy metrics.
The web-based dashboard can be accessed from any computer, including smartphones and tablets, and has a range of analytics: it can give energy usage information of a specific server rack, real-time temperature readings from the cold aisle, and forecast on energy requirements in data centers around the world, the company says.
The new interface has additional tools and gauges that may be configured according to the data center manager’s specific requirements, and create information displays in the form of reports, charts, thermal graphs, or maps, the company says.
Among the features of the software is a cooling chart, which reports back on compliance with manufacturers' and industry-accepted recommendations, and can project savings from increasing room ambient temperatures. Its power capacity gauge shows real-time power use at any level in the data center or lab (e.g., PDU, rack, row, busway, or room), and it will display current, maximum and minimum load over a selected time period, according to the product website.
Power IQ’s reporting tools can generate custom reports on active power, energy cost and consumption, carbon footprint, temperature and humidity. According to the product website, for example, a carbon footprint report can graph multiple devices on a single chart for comparison purposes, or summarize the accumulated total per period.
Somerset, N.J.-based Raritan is a member of the Green Grid, LEED, and Climate Savers Computing Initiative, and was recognized by the EPA for its work on the agency’s data center initiative. A 30-day trial of the Power IQ software is available for free.
