The renewable energy procurement platform LevelTen Energy released a new feature called Performance Monitoring that the company says provides instant access to critical data for managing one or more power purchase agreements (PPAs).
LevelTen’s Performance Monitoring software puts environmental, economic, and energy production data that is updated daily into a single dashboard, giving managers an up-to-date look at how a PPA is performing, according to the company.
“Careful monitoring of how a PPA has performed to-date, and how it is expected to perform in the future, is key to ensuring that a corporation meets its goals and maintains its budgets,” LevelTen product director Andrew Bishop wrote in a blog post. “But until now, the process of collecting and analyzing all of the required data has been a manual and time-consuming process, prone to human error. As one of our clients described it: ‘it was spreadsheet hell.’”
Performance Monitoring brings PPA monitoring to the cloud with a dashboard that multiple teams and stakeholders within an organization can access:
“In addition to providing a historical look at key performance metrics, Performance Monitoring is directly connected to the latest forward market curves, which means managers can see how a PPA is expected to perform for any given metric,” the company says. “This enables all internal stakeholders to take action, if needed, to reach their goals and manage their budgets.”
Corporations with more than one PPA can use Performance Monitoring to compile data from all those PPAs into a single portfolio view, LevelTen points out. “This enables management to see how the corporation’s overall portfolio of investments is performing, and how it could be improved with future investments.”
Any corporation already procuring a PPA through LevelTen Energy has Performance Monitoring included in the platform. For corporations not on the platform, Performance Monitoring is available for purchase as a standalone service.
