Current, powered by GE, introduced a new Lumination Ultra Suspended (LUR) Refit product at the Lightfair International architectural and commercial lighting trade show and conference in Philadelphia. The product was one of several solutions the company unveiled this week for channel partners and distributors.
The LUR Refit product has patented mechanical-electrical interconnect technology that decreases installation time by 75% compared to other suspended fixture retrofit products, making it particularly valuable in retail spaces with long continuous runs of suspended fixtures, Current says.
Once the starter is installed, it takes less than two minutes to install an eight-foot fixture — less time than a tube and driver replacement solution requires, according to the company. Applications include retail, offices, low bay open ceilings, indoor parking garages, hospitality, commercial and industrial, manufacturing and light assembly, distribution and warehousing, education, health, and data centers.
The company says the LUR includes their TriGain technology and has built-in features to eliminate snaking. This is also the first product to have Current’s new photo banding technology, which works with iOS and Android devices to allow more precise indoor positioning than BLE for retail applications.
“With CRI and R9 greater than 90, these fixtures optimally display objects like produce, fabric, skin tones and artwork — all with a remarkable efficiency, quick install, reduced maintenance, and operating costs,” the company said.
Other products introduced at the conference:
“We continually talk to our customers and channel partners to understand how we can help them become more efficient,” said Melissa Wesorick, Current’s general manager of LED products and technology.
