Pragmatic Approach to GHS Implementation

Posted

The complexity of identifying and communicating hazards in the chemical industry is not an easy task. It is compounded for companies that produce a range of products that are sold into numerous markets worldwide. Even with the gaining adoption of GHS by many countries - the dream of a single universal SDS or Label for a given product has long been dispelled. Most GHS country implementations incorporate adaptions and variations - so the question remains - is it even possible to use a single Safety Data Sheet over multiple jurisdictions?

Join IHS as we explore and review some of the differences and nuances between different GHS implementations. We will examine some of the decisions and considerations that need to be made if a single data sheet is the goal, and more importantly outline the likely pros and cons of each decision.
