The State of California awarded Envision Solar International a one-year contract to supply EV ARC products to state and local governmental agencies or entities.
The EV ARC fits inside a parking space and generates enough solar electricity to power 150 miles of EV driving each day. EV ARC delivers its solar energy directly to an electric vehicle. It is rapidly deployed and can be placed in locations that would have been impossible to provide EV charging in the past.
The system’s solar electrical generation is enhanced by EnvisionTrak, which enables the array to follow the sun, generating 18-25 percent more electricity than a fixed array. The energy is stored in the EV ARC Power Storage Technology, allowing EV’s to charge during the day or at night.
“California has about 40 percent of the United States’ EVs,” said Desmond Wheatley, CEO of Envision Solar.
Earlier this week, FreeWire Technologies and Siemens announced they were partnering to pilot and commercialize the Mobi Charger, a mobile electric vehicle charging technology powered by second-life EV batteries, and intelligently interconnected to the Internet and electricity grid. FreeWire and Siemens will be operating a three-month pilot at LinkedIn’s Mountain View, California, campus, providing access to hundreds of employees who drive electric vehicles.
