Pizza Fusion To Subway: We're Still Greener

Posted

Pizza Fusion has put out a press release saying that its approach to "environmentally-friendly" dining has received industry validation because of Subway's recent green announcement and that it has "a new found sense of accomplishment."

Pizza Fusion, which launched its franchise program in February, has sold 55 franchises in seven states.

The company requires all franchisees to uphold ‘green’ initiatives at inception, applying environmentally sustainable standards to restaurant build-out, design, operations, delivery, menu items and community outreach, the company says.

Pizza Fusion is opening Florida’s first LEED certified restaurant in January. Subway's announcement was that it had opened an "Eco-Store" in Florida.

"In May, Pizza Fusion adopted The LEED Building Rating System into their business model, requiring all franchisees to not only have green "eco-stores," but to build only LEED certified restaurants," according to the release.
