PHG Energy Acquires Gasification Plant from MaxWest

PHG Energy (PHGE) of Nashville has acquired multiple intellectual property assets and a municipal gasification plant in the bankruptcy of Florida-based MaxWest Environmental Systems.

PHGE says the acquisition will enhance its ability to diversify its offerings in the waste-to-energy marketplace and that MaxWest had made a significant investment in development of new technology to cleanly dispose of biosolids through gasification. Assets purchased in the bankruptcy auction include previously-issued patent work as well as in-progress intellectual works, a gasification plant in Sanford, Fla., and other confidential technology, financial information and data.

PHGE says this additional technology will improve its offering to commercial customers and municipal communities to address the problem of waste by turning it into clean energy.

In addition, PHG announced that Jeff Snyder has joined the company to lead the sales division. Snyder had served nearly three years as head of sales and marketing with MaxWest.
