Customers who reduce their cumulative gas usage by 10 percent or more during January and February, 2009 will receive a bill credit on their March or April gas bill, the utilities giant announced.
For every percent cut, the bill will be reduced by the same percentage, and up to 20 percent can be rewarded.
Every PG&E customer is eligible and automatically enrolled in the Winter Gas Savings Program, formerly called the 10/20 program. Last year about 1.7 million customers successfully participated.
P&G also launched an interactive website with tips, tools, and resources to help its customers conserve this winter.
In July, PG&E received an Acterra award for environmental and sustainability education via its Pacific Energy Center for architects, engineers, interior designers, and building owners and operators.
