PepsiCo Expands Open Climate Tool with Global Partners

CRP 2.0 brings climate risk data to more crops, regions, and users

PepsiCo has rolled out a major upgrade to its Climate Resilience Platform (CRP), expanding both its functionality and global reach. Initially launched in 2023, the platform helps agricultural stakeholders—from farmers to agribusinesses—evaluate climate-related risks and model adaptation strategies.

Now in its second phase, CRP 2.0 includes deeper analytical capabilities and broader accessibility. The open-access, open-source platform lets users quantify yield impacts, model investment strategies, and use regionally tailored data to drive climate-smart decisions. A co-investment of $1 million from the Foundation for Food & Agriculture Research (FFAR) supports this next stage of development.

PepsiCo says this shift toward shared, science-based infrastructure is central to scaling regenerative agriculture across its supply chains and beyond.

Global Collaborators Add Credibility and Reach to CRP Expansion

With the latest update, PepsiCo has also brought new global players onboard. Olam Agri, a major agri-business operating in food, feed, and fiber, is using the platform to integrate climate modeling across crops like rice and cotton in key producing regions. In addition to data contributions, Olam Agri is investing directly into the tool’s development.

For Olam Agri, the platform is part of a broader effort to support farmers in building long-term resilience, especially in areas most vulnerable to climate volatility. By adopting open tools like CRP 2.0, the company hopes to fast-track innovation in climate-smart agriculture.

Also joining the initiative is Bonsucro, a nonprofit focused on sustainable sugarcane. Supported through the ISEAL Innovation Fund with backing from SECO and UK International Development, Bonsucro brings a sectoral focus and technical expertise to expand the platform’s utility.

These collaborations are increasing CRP’s coverage to two additional crops across six more countries. A network of regional climate scientists supports the platform to ensure accuracy and local relevance.

New Brand Identity

Beyond the platform itself, PepsiCo is undergoing a broader transformation, unveiling a new corporate brand identity designed to reflect its global scale, purpose-driven strategy, and commitment to people and the planet. The company’s updated visual identity emphasizes connection, optimism, and sustainability—a symbolic nod to the same collaborative spirit driving CRP 2.0.

Together, the updated Climate Resilience Platform and PepsiCo’s refreshed brand narrative point toward a future where open data, collective action, and shared purpose define how global businesses confront the challenges—and opportunities—of climate change.
