Panasonic's Eco Solutions’ HIT N330 photovoltaic module offers 19.7 percent module level efficiency and a nominal power out of 330 watts. The 96-cell module returns about 27 percent more peak-power compared to legacy 260 watt multcrystaline modules. The HIT N330, which will be available in Europe in March, is being introduced at Solar Energy UK, which runs from October 13 to 16 in Birmingham.
The company also announced what it says is a world record module conversion in a commercial-sized prototype using mass produced solar cells. The efficiency of 22.5 percent rate for the 72-cell 270-watt prototype were confirmed by the Japanese National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology.
Last week, Solar City said that it has developed a rooftop solar panel that has an efficiency level of 22.04 percent as measured by the Renewable Energy Test Center. Small quantities will be produced this month. Daily production runs of 9,000 to 10,000 panels will being in the near future.
