OSM Worldwide, a nationwide parcel shipper for eCommerce and direct-to-consumer (DTC) packages, has announced the renewal of its CarbonNeutral company certification.
OSM’s renewal is in accordance with The CarbonNeutral Protocol, a framework for carbon neutrality. OSM's dedication to sustainability remains unwavering, and this renewal underscores its commitment to environmental responsibility. To obtain CarbonNeutral Certification, OSM worked with specialists in carbon market solutions for climate action, Climate Impact Partners.
The CarbonNeutral Project is managed by Climate Impact Partners, and according to the company, it was the first to offer guidelines for businesses on achieving carbon neutrality, starting in 2022. Climate Impact Partners has more than 22 years of experience with environmental programs and the company has over 300 clients in 33 countries.
OSM Worldwide’s collaboration with Climate Impact Partners to attain CarbonNeutral certification enabled OSM to undergo an independent assessment of its greenhouse gas emissions. This assessment encompassed Scope 1, 2, and 3 emissions from various sources, including heating and fuel, electricity, waste, freight (both outbound and inbound shipments), business travel, and capital goods.
To achieve carbon-neutral status, OSM has been working to reduce emissions internally by focusing on energy consumption and materials usage. OSM has also been working to ensure operational efficiency by optimizing data.
OSM has also worked to offset emissions that haven't been reduced internally. According to the company, OSM does this by supporting high-quality emission reduction projects that facilitate the transition to a low-carbon global economy. These projects undergo independent verification to ensure the integrity of their environmental impact, guaranteeing that real emissions reductions are achieved.
OSM Worldwide is recognized as the fifth-largest nationwide eCommerce and DTC parcel shipper, known for delivering 98% of all shipments in two to five days. OSM Worldwide’s headquarters are located in Glendale Heights, Illinois, and the CarbonNeutral Protocol, updated annually with input, ensures transparent carbon-neutral initiatives are taking place.
