The New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) this week announced $10 million in funding to promote energy efficiency and cost reductions at industrial and manufacturing sites in the state.

The On-Site Energy Manager Initiative, which launched this week, will provide $7 million in funding in partnership with large and medium-size industrial facilities to demonstrate the benefits of retaining a full-time on-site energy manager. Launching in a few weeks, according to the press release, is a program that will provide $3 million in support of continuous improvements at 20 facilities statewide that currently have high energy cost and usage. The goal is to demonstrate ways to improve.

Last month, the NYSERDA made $16 million available for energy efficient housing.
