Nordstrom recently doubled the size of its Cedar Rapids fulfillment and contact center, but the retailer expects to reduce its energy consumption and save almost $150,000 annually on its energy bill.
The company has installed new energy-efficient lighting fixtures, which are expected to save more than 3.2 million kilowatt-hours of electricity each year. It will also reduce the company's greenhouse emissions by over 2,500 metric tons.
Nordstrom also received a rebate check of more than $190,000, by participating in a rebate program from its utility, Alliant Energy, which offers cash incentives to businesses to implement energy-efficiency projects.
