Nexamp Says Corporate Office Is 'Beyond Zero Net-Energy'

nexamp.jpgNexamp Inc. recently completed green energy upgrades at its corporate office in the East Mill building, in Massachusetts. The company says the green improvements make the office a “beyond zero net-energy” workplace.

The upgrade includes a 67-kilowatt solar system designed and installed by Nexamp, which the company says generates about 200 percent of the power needed at its 4,500 square foot corporate office. Another feature is the Hallowell Acadia efficient heating and cooling system, which the company says is twice as efficient than a modern commercial fuel furnace or boiler.

East Mill's developer, RCG LLC says the partnership with Nexamp has helped it to realize 15 to 20 percent rates of return on its clean energy investments.

Nexamp says all of the major components are from Massachusetts companies, including solar panels from Evergreen Solar, an inverter from Solectria Renewables, and a mounting system from PanelClaw. The solar photovoltaic system was partially funded by a rebate from the Massachusetts Renewable Energy Trust.
