New Consumer Promotion Bundles Retail Green Energy with Hulu TV Subscription

On September 29, Dallas-based Clearview Energy, a competitive retailer of green energy, announced a partnership with Hulu, a premium streaming TV subscription service based in Santa Monica.

The promotional partnership – which appears to be geared to grab the attention of Millennials – bundles a 100 percent residential green energy plan with a Hulu subscription at no extra cost.

The new Clearview Energy Hulu plan, available now, is being offered to residential electricity consumers in select markets nationwide. Customers who opt-in will receive a sponsored Hulu subscription, so long as they remain a Clearview Energy customer.

In 2015, the average American spent $64.41 a month for expanded basic cable programming, according to Hulu, which points out, “As many households look to cut down on debt and save money, the opportunity to cut their cable bill means putting more money back in their wallets.”

"The needs of today's energy consumer are complex and ever-changing, making it extremely important for us to select partners that will help us cut consumers' monthly expenses while delivering superior value on an on-going basis," said Frank McGovern, president of Clearview Energy. "The partnership between Clearview Energy and Hulu combines two powerful brands that offer customers an opportunity to enjoy the benefits of something they need and want, in a meaningful and effective way."
