Microsoft India announced that it has signed a renewable energy agreement of 150 MW with ReNew Power, one of India's largest renewable energy companies. According to ReNew Power, this represents one of the largest such deals in the country.

As part of the arrangement, ReNew will produce 150 MW of clean energy from a recently commissioned solar site near Bikaner. This deal signifies that corporations globally, including in India, are increasingly integrating renewable energy into their operations in every form, and this partnership further paves the way for innovative models that will accelerate the energy transition.

Solar Surging

In November, a report noted that American companies are installing record-levels of solar to power their operations and now account for 14% of all installed solar capacity in the United States, according to the Solar Means Business 2022 report released recently by the Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA).

The report, which tracks and analyzes commercial solar adoption, named Meta, Amazon, Apple, Walmart, and Microsoft as the top five corporate solar users in America.
