The Michigan International Speedway has received an incentive of $29,460 from Consumers Energy, according to the utility.
The press release also says that the MIS, which has a goal of becoming the greenest NASCAR speedway, annually saves $60,835 in natural gas, electricity and maintenance bills. The incentive from Consumers Energy was the result of transitioning the lighting to LEDs in their tunnel and the exterior of the administration building. The track also installed a building automation system. MIS was Consumer Energy’s Green Generation Customer of the year for 2015, helped plant 50,000 trees across Michigan and installed solar panels on its site.
In January 2015, Schneider Electric was hired to help with the DAYTONA Rising redevelopment project at Daytona International Speedway in Daytona Beach, FL. The company’s EcoStruxture software is being used to provide a view into critical infrastructure systems.
