ChemAdvisor's chemical regulatory database will be offered as a module within Locus Technologies' ePortal, the two environmental software companies have announced.
Locus president and CEO Neno Duplan said the integration will give customers comprehensive tools to manage all aspects of regulatory compliance, energy and water usage, water quality, air emissions, greenhouse gas reporting, and health and safety through one online portal.
ChemAdvisor will refresh its List of Lists (LOLI) database, which contains almost 4,000 regulatory lists from around the world, through the Locus ePortal. This will ensure that the lists continually reflect the most up-to-date information in the industry, the companies said, helping clients with material safety data sheet preparation and other regulatory compliance needs.
Meanwhile, ePortal customers who subscribe to the LOLI database will have seamless access to a fast, reliable, and cost-effective way to search for regulatory information on specific chemicals and chemical groups, the companies said. Customers will be able to for search CAS numbers by chemical name, PMN number, EINECS number and more.
The LOLI database uses sources including inventories, physical properties, and toxicity data, as well as data necessary for U.S. and international environmental, health, and safety compliance.
The ePortal will also include The Transportation Database, which contains all information from the U.S. Department of Transportation, ADR, ADN, RID, Canadian TDG, IATA, ICAO and IMO hazardous materials tables in a database format. This list includes proper shipping names, packing groups, CFR notations and synonyms.
In September, Safetec Compliance Systems, Inc. and ChemADVISOR, Inc. announced they will partner to provide regulatory and compliance services for chemical users. Safetec customers will gain access to ChemADVISOR’s LOLI database, while ChemADVISOR customers will be able to use Safetec’s platform for distribution management of material safety data sheets to support OSHA’s GHS transition requirements.
Last month, Del Monte Foods selected Locus Technologies’ ePortal platform to provide an integrated system for monitoring and managing its energy use, water, and other sustainability efforts.
In the past year Locus also launched an iPhone application for mobile collection of water data, and a report by Green Research said dissatisfaction with current sustainability performance management systems could spell opportunity for vendors such as Locus, as well as CSRware, Carbon Guerrilla, Carbon Systems, Cloud Apps, e3 Solutions, Enablon, Enviance, ENXSuite, FirstCarbon Solutions, Hara, ProcessMAP and Verisae.
