LG HVAC Installed at LEED-Certified Hampton Inn

The historic Chicago Motor Club building - an Art-Deco landmark built nearly 100 years ago - has been retrofitted as a LEED-certified Hampton Inn hotel.

A major challenge in the renovation was to install a heating and air conditioning system that would allow the building to maintain its architectural integrity, while also dealing with challenges of limited interior and rooftop space. Midwest Applied Solutions oversaw the installation of the LG Multi V IV HVAC system currently in use at the hotel. The outdoor units on the roof of the 17-story hotel are only minimally visible. The units feature LG Vapor Injection Technology, which allows for maximum heating performance in cold climates, according to LG.

In each guestroom, the LG ductless Art Cool Mirror packaged unit complements the stylized Art Deco décor of the hotel. These indoor units maintain very low sound levels (as low as 23 dBA). LG's AC Smart IV central controller communicates with all of the LG indoor units for facility managers to adjust all devices with one centralized system.

The hotel also selected LG's 42-inch class LG LY570H series hotel TVs, which are ENERGY STAR certified.
