Japanese Ministry Requests $1,479M for Energy Efficiency, Energy Storage

Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry wants to provide about $779 million to help factories and smaller businesses install devices to improve energy efficiency, reports Bloomberg.

The ministry has submitted a request for a budget for energy saving devices such as LEDs and efficient boilers. In addition, the Ministry wants to spend about $700 million to set up energy storage systems that will help the country’s grid accommodate the intermittent power from renewable energy, says Bloomberg.
