HYTING Proves 10-Year Durability of Hydrogen Heat System

Flameless hydrogen unit completes 2,500-hour test with zero wear

German startup HYTING has reached a major milestone in its push to decarbonize commercial heating. Its 10kW hydrogen heat generator, the HG10, has completed 2,500 hours of independent durability testing—equivalent to 10 years of operation—without any failures or wear on critical components.

The test, carried out by a third-party engineering provider from January to July 2025, aimed to replicate real-world heating cycles across a decade of use. Post-test inspection found no material degradation or damage to core parts, validating the long-term reliability of HYTING’s flameless catalytic technology.

The HG10 operates without combustion, instead using a proprietary catalytic process to produce high-grade heat up to 300°C. Across the testing period, the system produced no CO₂, NOx, or particulate emissions, a result confirmed through continuous exhaust gas monitoring.

HYTING’s managing director Tim Hannig noted the significance of the test results, pointing to the system’s low maintenance profile and emissions-free performance as critical factors for commercial and industrial buyers under growing regulatory pressure.

Commercial Readiness and Industry Uptake

The HG10 is part of a scalable product line covering heating capacities from 10kW to 50kW per unit, with a larger 150kW version in development for 2026. Applications range from peak load space heating in commercial buildings to industrial process heat and mobile heating units.

HYTING’s durability milestone comes alongside a series of commercial developments. The company has partnered with ventilation and drive specialist ebm-papst, and secured manufacturing support from Kampmann. Its first customer, thermal solutions firm Flusys, has already signed on, with field test deployments supported by Gas Appliance Regulation (GAR) certification across Europe.

These moves indicate more than early-stage interest—they suggest the company’s technology is maturing into a market-ready solution. GAR certification provides regulatory clearance for pilot operations, while partnerships with established industrial suppliers offer production capacity and credibility within the HVAC and process heat sectors.

For operators in energy-intensive industries, HYTING’s hydrogen-based heating could present a way to meet sustainability goals without sacrificing performance or reliability. The combination of zero-emissions output and proven durability gives the technology a strong foundation for wider adoption.
