Ford, which has been whetting the appetite for the vehicle for some time, is officially unveiling the vehicle Feb. 10 at the Chicago Auto Show, according to news reports.

The vehicle has a top speed of 75 miles per hour and can go about 80 miles on a charge, reports the Detroit News.

A full charge will take six to eight hours, reports Motor Trend.

The vehicle should be available to commercial fleets later this year.

Telecommunications firms, utilities and delivery services seem the most excited about the vehicle, said Ford CEO Scott Harrison.

Ford also is introducing a taxi version of the Transit Connect that can be powered by either compressed natural gas or liquid propane.
