For its two-pound foodservice snack and baking products, the Fisher brand is utilizing more plant-based renewable resources, according to a press release.
The Fisher brand, which is produced by John B. Sanfilippo & Son Inc., sought to replace the metallic mylar packaging previously in use for Fisher's Chefs Natural Baking Nuts, among other products, without sacrificing any air barrier aspects, according to the release.
The company is putting in place other efforts to reduce its overall energy usage and to continue to research packaging materials and processing methods to help reduce emissions and waste.
Additionally, a resource conservation team has been established to esnure the company meets these goals.
