In an extended trial period using hybrid diesel trucks from Iveco, FedEx has achieved fuel savings of 26.5 percent.
The Daily hybrid trucks trial began last fall and will continue until May 2010, according to LogisticsManager.com.
So far, each van has traveled an average 4,900 miles. By consuming less fuel, the vans have emitted 7.5 tons less CO2 as compared to traditional vans, according to the article.
