Evitex Apparels Limited, a subsidiary of the Evince Group, has secured the coveted LEED v4.1 Gold certification for Operations and Maintenance, reinforcing its position as a leader in sustainable garment manufacturing. Awarded in June 2025, the certification acknowledges the company’s outstanding environmental performance across multiple metrics, including energy efficiency, indoor air quality, water conservation, and waste management.

According to the US Green Building Council (USGBC), Evitex Apparels earned 75 out of a possible 100 points under the LEED v4.1 O+M framework. The factory demonstrated high-level compliance in the following categories:

  • Energy & Atmosphere (28/35 points) – Strong energy performance and responsible refrigerant management.
  • Indoor Environmental Quality (18/22 points) – Emphasis on air quality, lighting, and worker wellbeing.
  • Location & Transportation (14/14 points) – Full marks for sustainable commuting and site access.
  • Materials & Resources (7/9 points) – Efficient waste performance and operational sourcing practices.
  • Water Efficiency (6/15 points) – Foundational improvements with room for further optimization.

This achievement adds to Bangladesh’s growing reputation as a global leader in sustainable ready-made garment (RMG) production. The country now hosts 248 LEED-certified RMG factories, including 105 Platinum-rated and 129 Gold-rated facilities. Impressively, nine of the world’s top ten highest-rated LEED factories are located in Bangladesh.

Evitex Apparels joins other Evince Group affiliates in setting a high standard for environmental stewardship. Notably, Evitex Dress Shirt Limited holds a LEED v4.1 Platinum certification, underscoring the group’s comprehensive ESG strategy.

With manufacturing operations based in Gazipur, and administrative offices in Dhaka, the Evince Group has pursued a mission to deliver high-quality products at competitive prices while maintaining an ethical and sustainable business model. The group’s efforts align with international market expectations for low-impact production and responsible sourcing, especially as global brands place increasing importance on supply chain sustainability.

LEED certification not only reduces environmental footprints but also delivers business value—through energy and water savings, enhanced worker productivity, improved brand reputation, and reduced operational risk. For Evitex Apparels, this milestone marks a critical step toward long-term sustainability and global competitiveness.
