Energy Systems Group (ESG) and Alabama Power are working to improve energy efficiency at Maxwell Air Force Base in Montgomery, AL.
The companies are working on five energy conservation steps, according to Alabama Newscenter. The project elements include lighting control upgrades and retrofits in 18 buildings, heat recovery chillers in 20 buildings, mechanical retrofits, control upgrades in 22 buildings and demand ventilation and retro-commissioning in six buildings, the story says.
The project will reduce energy use by more than 41,000 MMBtu (million British thermal units) or 12 Gigawatt hours (GWh) annually. The project is expected to be finished in 13 months, the story said.
The Air Force has set energy efficiency as a priority.
