Here’s the latest news on hirings, promotions and departures among environmental leaders.
United Water: The water services company has appointed David Carter as its new general manager and vice president of operations responsible for the company’s contracts in the Midwest and North Carolina. Carter is the former vice president of operations for Veolia Water North America’s central region.
Stantec: The consulting firm has appointed Dan Synoracki (pictured) as senior project manager. Synoracki has previously managed numerous large, multidisciplinary environmental projects throughout Pennsylvania, Stantec says.
Vinson & Elkins: The law practice has named Michael Wigmore as a partner in its environmental practice group. Wimore is the former co-chair of Bingham McCutchen's environmental, land use and natural resources group.
Faegre Baker Daniels: The law firm has named Kevin Lyskowski as a partner in its environmental practice in Washington, DC. Lyskowski was formerly senior counsel at the US Department of Justice in the Environment and Natural Resources Division.
Karbone: The renewable energy and environmental markets firm has named two new partners and four new members of its advisory board. Incoming partners Jonathan Burnston and Jacques Pouhe have been with Karbone in other capacities since 2010 and 2011, respectively. Edward Sugar, Caroline Angoorly, Travis Bradford, and Yusuf Nahmiyas joined the advisory board.
Regional Greenhouse Gas Initiative: The nonprofit that provides technical and administrative services to the East Coast cap-and-trade project that shares its name has appointed six members of the executive committee of is board of directors. For 2014 the executive committee will comprise of: Kenneth Kimmell, commissioner of the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection, as chair; Daniel Esty, commissioner of the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, as a vice chair; current RGGI chair, Collin O’Mara, secretary of the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control, as a vice chair; David Littell, commissioner of the Maine Public Service Commission, as treasurer; Kelly Speakes-Backman, commissioner of the Maryland Public Service Commission, as secretary; Joseph Martens, commissioner of the New York Department of Environmental Conservation, as a member-at-large; and James Volz, chairman of the Vermont Public Service Board, as a member-at-large.
Canada Carbon: The mining firm has announced the addition of E. Richard Klue, to its advisory board. The metallurgical engineer has been involved in the mining industry for more than 30 years.
