Entrade has introduced what it says is the world’s smallest combined cooling, heat and power (CCHP) tri-generation unit powered by biomass. The unit was unveiled at La Kretz Innovation Center in Los Angeles.
The company says that the E3, which is small enough to be transported in a pickup truck, generates as much as 30 KW of electricity, 60 KW of electricity for heating and 30 KW of electricity for cooling. It is certified to operate with more than 100 types of solid waste.
The platform, according to the press release, provides more than 8,000 full load hours per year and can be installed in less than a day.
Cogeneation & On-Site Power Production reports that a new Munich Airport satellite terminal will get 60 percent of its energy from a trigeneration plant. The terminal is a project of Flughafen München GmbH and Deutsche Lufthansa AG. The vendor of the trigeneration plant is not mentioned in the report. The plant is expected to cut emissions by 40 percent.
