Strategic collaboration delivers faster, intelligent validation for EVs, aerospace, and connected vehicles
Emerson and Tata Technologies have formed a global partnership to develop advanced testing and validation solutions for next-generation mobility platforms, including electric, autonomous, and software-defined vehicles. The alliance is designed to help OEMs across the automotive, aerospace, and commercial vehicle sectors accelerate development timelines while reducing costs and complexity.
The collaboration brings together Emerson’s expertise in software-connected test and measurement systems with Tata Technologies’ global engineering services and deep domain knowledge in E/E architectures and mobility platform design.
“This collaboration represents a powerful synergy between Emerson’s test and measurement innovation and Tata Technologies’ engineering scale,” said Shitendra Bhattacharya, country head and director for Emerson’s Test and Measurement business in India, in a July 9 press release. “Together, we can deliver end-to-end solutions that help customers reduce complexity and stay ahead in a highly dynamic transportation landscape.”
Pilot programs are already showing results. A joint engagement with a European luxury OEM led to the creation of EV powertrain test rigs in just five months—67% faster than the typical 15-month timeline. Another project with a premium brand produced a fully automated infotainment head-up display validation system, capable of running more than 30,000 test scenarios.
“We are thrilled to collaborate with Emerson to innovate intelligent, automated testing and validation solutions that address the growing complexity of connected, autonomous, and software-defined mobility platforms,” said Nachiket Paranjpe, president and head of automotive sales at Tata Technologies. “This partnership reinforces our commitment to engineering a software-defined future.”
The pilot initiatives are currently underway in India, Europe, and North America, with plans to expand joint development efforts globally. As the automotive industry continues to evolve toward electrification and autonomy, validation has become a critical bottleneck. A 2024 McKinsey study found that validation and testing costs can consume up to 40% of the R&D budget for vehicle programs.
This collaboration positions both Emerson and Tata Technologies to support the growing demand for scalable, intelligent validation systems that can keep pace with rapid product innovation and complex regulatory environments.
