Earthplace, a 62-acre nature sanctuary in Westport, CT, has secure financing and is closing in on the end of the second phase of a sustainability upgrade, according to The Hour.
The recent work was the addition of 32 kW of solar power, an LED retrofit and upgrades to the heating system. The $300,000 second phase project was the first in Westport financed by the Connecticut Green Bank. The third phase is likely to address water, air and other distributed generation technologies, the story said. The first phase, which was executed in 2012, focused on a 12 kW solar installation.
Hartford Business reported at the end of December that Hannon Armstrong, a debt and equity firm that focuses on energy markets, has agreed to provide as much as $100 million in financing to the Connecticut Green Bank.
