fort_carson.jpgThe U.S. Army has implemented its first real-time GHG reporting and management system at a military base -- Fort Carson, in Colorado.

Developed in conjunction with National Defense Center for Energy and Environment, Enviance, an environmental health and safety software firm, says the system allows Ft. Carson to monitor, measure and track emissions from internal facilities, military vehicles, and various remote activities.

The system allows Ft. Carson to set targets and support an Executive order that mandates 30-percent reductions in energy use and GHG emissions by 2015, Enviance says.
