Dicastal North America, an aluminum wheel manufacturer that is a division of Chinese manufacturer Dicastal, could receive as much as $170,000 in incentives from Consumers Energy for energy efficiency programs at its plant in Greenville, MI, according to the press release, which was posted at Military-Technologies.
The deal is a milestone: Now, 1,000 plants have taken advantage of the utility’s new construction program. So far, more than $7.5 million has been awarded. Consumers Energy, according to the release, worked with state and regional economic development officials to convince the parent company to locate the $140 million plant in Michigan.
In October, the Michigan Public Service Commission reported that electric and gas utilities spent $257 million in 2014 to reduce energy use. The investment is expected to save $1.1 billion during the lives of the programs, the report said.
