Dell has boosted the proportion of electricity derived from renewable sources, up to 26 percent globally, as compared to 20 percent in 2008.
The bulk of the increase results from renewable energy partnerships in the United Kingdom, Germany, Sweden and Norway, with deals struck with utilities Swalec, Scottish Power Energy Retail, EVH, Mainova, Telge Energi and Hafslund, according to a press release.

The Oklahoma City facility went to 100 percent renewables earlier this year, relying on wind power.
Dell aims to reduce its facilities' GHG emissions 40 percent by 2015. Dell was one of the top purchasers of renewable energy in 2008.
Dell took the top spot in the inaugural Corporate Sustainability Index, a survey of technology firms’ sustainability efforts put together by Technology Business Research, a market research and industry advisory firm.
