Dell has cut both its overall GHG emissions and its scope 1 and 2 emissions as a percentage of revenue (see above chart), according to its 2009 corporate responsibility report.

On the Web, Dell has gone to great lengths to increase its transparency, tripling the number of Web pages devoted to corporate responsibility reporting.
Among other environmental accomplishments in 2008, Dell recycled more than 275 million pounds of electronics equipment.
The firm also reduced packaging content by more than 9.5 million pounds and introduced curbside recyclable product packaging.
The company, which sells 148 Energy Star-certified configurations of desktops, laptops, workstations, monitors, printers and multi-function devices, says it met a goal to become operationally carbon neutral last year, by combining emissions-cutting endeavors with purchase of carbon offsets.
Over the course of completing 88 projects, Dell saved 17 million kWh of electricity use on an annualized basis, avoiding 4,300 tons of annualized green house gas emissions.
The company has a goal to reduce global GHG emissions by 15 percent per dollar of revenue from 2007 to 2012.
By 2015, Dell wants to reduce its overall global GHG emissions by 40 percent.
