Nuverra Environmental Solutions has entered into an agreement with Halliburton to advance the treatment and recycling of produced water to be re-used in the hydraulic fracturing process. Nuverra will work with Halliburton in the Bakken Shale to utilize the Halliburton’s H20 Forward service for water re-use and recycling in fracking operations, which allows customers to recycle waste streams of produced water for use in well completions.
Texas-based Skyonic has awarded a $117 million contract to Toyo-Thai-USA, a subsidiary of Toyo-Thai Corporation, to build a carbon capture and utilization plant in San Antonio. The plant will capture greenhouse gases and turn them into usable byproducts including baking soda, hydrochloric acid and bleach.
Xylem has won a contract to provide ultraviolet drinking water treatment systems to the largest UV disinfection project ever undertaken in Sweden. Xylem will provide four Wedeco K- Series UV disinfection systems to upgrade the Sydvatten AB Waterworks in the Scania (Skåne) region in southern Sweden.
Tetra Tech has been awarded its third consecutive contract to support the EPA’s Regional Superfund Program serving Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, Nebraska and nine tribal nations. Through the $50 million Superfund Technical Assessment and Response Team contract, Tetra Tech will provide technical support services including emergency preparedness and response, assessment and inspection, and data management.
Water management and pollution control company Tri-Tech Holding has been awarded a basic engineering contract by Saudi International Petrochemical Company to design a zero liquid discharge system for a wastewater treatment plant. The contract is valued at about $545,000.
Algae International Group (ALGA) has signed a contract with Green Giant Ventures Fund to validate, compile, certify and present for trade the carbon credits available from its Algae site. ALGA says it is also exploring a number of other such sites it intends to mobilize during the next three years in California.
Versar has been awarded one of 10 multiple environmental government acquisition contracts for environmental remediation services and military munitions response program services in support of the US Army Corps of Engineers, Omaha District for work to be performed at locations across the US. The maximum estimated combined total value of all 10 contracts awarded will not exceed $250,000,000.
