CE recyclingThe consumer electronics industry last year recycled 660 million pounds of electronics in the US — the industry’s highest every annual total — under the eCycling Leadership Initiative (ELI), according to a Consumer Electronics Association report.

ELI is an industry effort, led by CEA, to increase collaboration among CE manufacturers, retailers, collectors, recyclers, non-governmental organizations and governments at all levels and to continue to increase the industry’s sustainability efforts.

ELI’s annual recycling total increased by more than 6 percent in 2014, 40 million pounds above the 2013 level (620 million pounds) and more than double the amount recycled before the initiative’s inception in 2010 (300 million pounds).
